ĦĦRecent advances in molecular biology have majorly contributed to our understanding of the properties of biological elements (individual molecules). We now need to explore principles of LIFE at the supramolecular levels, so called bio-nanosystems, in which multi-molecular complexes control biological activities in a spatial and temporal manner.

ĦĦThe Kanzaki laboratory is focusing on understanding the molecular pathogenesis of the lifestyle-related diseases, especially caused by the nanosystem disorders, by utilizing cutting-edge nano-imaging technology and advanced cellular/molecular engineering technologies. One of our research goals is to identify such nanosystem disorders underlying various lifestyle-releated diseases including type 2 diabetes and the higher neurological disorders such as dementia. The knowledge obtained from our research will be applied to development of the novel therapeutics and diagnoses.

Research Topics

  1. Live Imaging Analysis of Cellular Functions and Diseases
  2. Cellular Engineering Innovation
  3. Lifestyle-related Diseases and Nano-system Disorders
