Message from Professor Kodama

One in four Japanese males and one in six Japanese females are estimated to die from cancer.
One reason why radical cure of cancer is difficult is that there are not any efficient therapeutic
methods to inhibit metastasis.
When metastasis is found in our bodies, it is estimated that a tumor has already become the size of
a grape (1cm in diameter), and cancer cells are divided and metastasized to another site.
In our laboratory, we have developed early diagnostic and treatment methods for cancer by using nanobubbles and ultrasound.
Our final goal is to fruit our efforts in clinical practice. Therefore, we try to understand experimental results not only with
physical explanations but also at cellular and gene levels.
Staff members are willing to provide well-organized research environments for you to use your talent as much as you want, or even
more than you think you can.
We welcome you to our laboratory, who wishes to return your fruits to society at large and contribute to the world.
