Purpose

Purpose and organization
This conference focuses on advances being made to examine tissue microstructure with very-high-frequency ultrasound (20 MHz and higher). Topics of interest include basic physical phenomena, transducers, novel processing and systems, animal applications, clinical applications, and high-frequency biological effects.
The conference is held every two years. It is organized around a series of invited presentations covering ultrasonics topics and also addressing other high-resolution examination modalities. Presentations are also accepted from brief submitted abstracts, although attendance does not require abstract submission.
The rural setting and schedule of the conference are intended to promote informal discussions among scientists, engineers, students and biomedical investigators interested in high-frequency ultrasound. We hope to review the current state-of-the-art, identify key problems and potential solutions, and share insights into future directions with a goal of advancing biological and medical examinations.
Illustrative Topics
  - Very-high-frequency transducers (materials, design, arrays)
- Very-high-frequency propagation and tissue properties
- Tissue analysis methods (e.g., spectral, elastographic, harmonic)
- Vascular imaging (e.g., IVUS)
- Ocular imaging
- Mouse Imaging
- Cell Imaging
- Very-high-frequency contrast agents
