Great advances have been made in the field of biomedical engineering within
the past twenty years, leading to increased incorporation of engineering
principles in the fields of biology and medicine. Development of biomedical
engineering is particularly important in the East Asian region because
the countries in this area are confronting serious problems with ageing
societies that require innocations in health care and medicine.
It is very important to promote collaboration between the leading universities
in this region with the goals of facilitating interaction between students
and advancing the evolution of biomedical engineering. Since the 1st East
Asian Pacific Student Workshops on Nano-Biomedical Engineering was hold
in 2007, the number of the participants has increased. Since 2013, the
workshop has been organized by East Asian Consortium on Biomedical Engineering.
Tohoku University is very pround of hosting the students workshop in the
spring of 2014 hoping to develop the collaboration in the East Asian region
and to propose innovative ideas to the world.
Dear all
