The Japan's first Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering was founded
at Tohoku University in 2008. Our laboratory was also founded as "Biomedical
Imaging Laboratory" in Division of Biomedical Measurements and Diagnostics.
We are investigating 3D and 4D imaging, automatic tissue characterization
and blood flow dynamics based on clinical CT, MRI and ultrasound images.
We are developing some new instruments for biomedial imaging such as ultrasound
microscope and photoacoustic imaging. We are always challenging visualization
of tissues and living cells.
We are conjuncted with Smart Aging International Research Center at Institute
of Development, Aging and Cancer, Tohoku University since April 1, 2010.
Here we are investigating assessment of aging of skin and artery.
Aobayama laboratory was destroyed by the earthquake on Mar 11, 2011. Most
of the instruments have been repaired and we have restarted our research
in a new labpratory. |
