Since the recent scientific progress in molecular biology has greatly contributed to revealing the biological properties of individual molecules, scientists now focus on understanding how molecular complexes interact with various biological events occurring in our body.
In our laboratory, we develop novel techniques for bio-imaging and investigate the fundamental mechanisms referred to as biological nano-systems in which molecular complexes control the biological activities in a spatial and temporal manner. Our research goal is to identify the critical factors that prevent the biological nano-systems from working properly in the life-style diseases, such as type-II diabetes, and the higher neurological disorder. The knowledge obtained from our investigation will be applied to development of the new type of medical cures and diagnoses. Furthermore, we are interested to produce cells having higher biological functions by using latest techniques in cellular and genetic engineering.
