About the Research
Electrical energy is one of our essential infrastructures, and working to develop a power system (electrical energy network system) is one way to apply the knowledge of electrical engineering to our real lives. In addition, applying the artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation (DX) technologies to delivering electricity in a cost-effective way is considered important. When we think about the business of electrical energy, the following two categories may be considered. One is to change the shape of the power system. The ideas in this category must be quite strong considering its relatively-long launch times. The other category is to propose new information technology (IT) applications to power systems. Since they are considered sorts of IT technologies, their launch times can be short. Examples are itemized:
- To develop a micro-grid for relatively small loads currently delivered by a long distribution line.
- To develop a GFM (Grid ForMing) inverter to accept a large amount of renewable energy sources.
- An automatic generation of simulation cases by data-model and AI technologies.
- To develop system simulation methods based on new ideas.
- To apply robotics technologies for constructions and maintenances.
